St Mary's: Work with Children and Youth

All children are welcome in the Church at any time. In addition, there are special resources designed for them. There is a Sunday school, for children aged between 2 and 14, which meets at 10:30 am on Sundays in the New Church Rooms. The children then join the adults in the New Church for the end of the Parish Communion service.

There is space available in the vestry and in the portico where children under 2 can move about and play safely whilst their carers can continue to follow the service.

A flourishing Brownie pack meets in the Church Hall in Defoe Road every Friday.

The parish also has a Church of England Primary School, St Mary's School, at the corner of Lordship Road and Church Street.

Members of the congregation help run the Hackney Deanery Youth Camp in Hampshire over the summer half-term - usually a great success whatever the weather!
