St.
Mary's Stoke Newington
Children at St Mary's |
Children are very welcome at St Mary's. On Sundays there is provision for them at The 9.30am All Age Service This is particularly geared towards young children who are invited to take part throughout. There is no separate Sunday School. The 11am Sung Eucharist Shortly into this service the children leave for their own Sunday School in the New Church Rooms, returning to church to share in the Eucharist. Sunday School doesn’t run during the school holidays. Joint Services at 10.30am Several times a year the 9.30 & 11am services combine for a joint service at 10.30am. There will be joint services at Harvest Festival (9th October), Christ the King (20th November) and Christmas Day. A Breathing Space There is a space between the two front sets of church doors where parents and carers can take children during any of the services at St Mary's. As well as having toys and books, you can still see and hear the service in this area. St Mary’s School The parish has a Church of England Primary School, St Mary's Stoke Newington CE School, at the corner of Lordship Road and Church Street. Brownies There is a
flourishing Brownie pack
which meets in the Church Hall in Defoe Road every Friday.
