Our aims here are:
* to develop ideas and policies which will promote the growth - both numerical and spiritual - of the congregation
* to provide teaching, discussion, study and prayer - "adult education"
* the periodic distribution of leaflets, posters, notice board items, etc. and liaison with the local press
* to disseminate and maintain the principles of Christian stewardship (including making sure that the collection of funds and covenants are maintained and organised)
* to help everyone in the congregation to become involved appropriately in the work of the Church.
* to choose home good causes each year
Prayer has been a focus us of recent discussions, reflecting on the progress of the Prayer Partners scheme, and holding a week of guided prayer.
We regularly hold a series of courses- several led by outside speakers- Lent discussion groups and Advent meditations, Bible study weekends, Alpha courses and weekend retreats and quiet days.
There is a regular bulletin giving advance information on events and opportunities for spiritual growth.
There are also regular opportunities to discuss broader religious, moral or current issues (e.g. divorce, the position of gay Christians, inter-communion and the Lawrence Report).
