St. Mary's Stoke Newington

Both the Old Church and the New Church are licensed for weddings, and either may provide a wonderful setting.

In order to be married at St Mary's, one of the couple must live in the parish, or must be on our Electoral Roll as a member of the church. Arrangements are made through the parish office (please call 020 7254 6072).

Fees
Fees for weddings are not set by parishes but by Parliament. They usually increase annually on 1st January and by more than the rate of inflation.

The costs for 2010 break down like this:

Please note that in addition to the above, if one of you lives in another parish then you will have to get your banns read in the parish church of the parish where you live, and collect a certificate to say they have been read, and bring it to us at St Mary's. There is a legal fee payable to the other church for this, which is £30. These fees also apply for banns read at St Mary's for a wedding elsewhere.

A refundable deposit required of £150 to confirm booking. The full fee is payable a month before the service and payable in cash only if paid TWO WEEKS before.

We require a full address and contact number of whoever pays, at time of booking.

A reminder or call will be sent out a month or so prior to the wedding and a further reminder two weeks later if not received before then.

There is a legal obligation on you to pay the fees for your wedding, so if we do not receive the fees then your wedding service may be delayed or cancelled. We would hate your wedding service to run into any kind of unfortunate trouble because of the money. So we ask you to pay by cheque at least a fortnight in advance to allow the cheque to clear.
