Our Church needs resources to carry out its work and to grow into the millennium. Christianity is also about commitment and about returning to God what He has so generously given to us. All that we have, we hold in trust.

Christianity is about giving, sharing and doing. It is an offering up to God - a sacrifice - of part of what He has given us, an offering of our material possessions to use for His purpose.

Jesus teaches us that those things that we cling on to, we shall lose. We need to give. The discipline of giving is a deeply spiritual activity. It starts with an appreciation of God's Love for us, and achieves a freedom for us to know and love him more.

The Parish needs to spend about £100,000 each year on its essential commitments. A tenth of this goes to charity, while insurance alone costs nearly £10,000 a year. In addition, we pay £53,000 to the Diocesan Common Fund which pays the salaries of all Clergy in the Diocese (including our own).
