Advent Prayer Book
As we reach Advent, to help us journey through the season we have, with our partner church St Andrews, put together a prayer resource exploring the Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.
There is a prayer for each day of Advent.
If you would like to experience these prayers read aloud they will be shared daily on our Instagram account, @stmarysn16, read by members of St Mary’s and St Andrew’s.

Revd Charis Enga
I'm so delighted to be your new priest in Stokey and thank you for helping me feel settled in already. A bit about me? I am passionate about community, I love hearing people's stories and I cherish diversity and difference.
One reason I became a vicar is because I have always found it easy to talk openly about my faith and doubts. Plus I am happy to share my experience of the sacred that grounds me and the deep joy I have received from feeling loved by the One I call God. But also I'm fascinated to see where synchronicity and love abounds and share the persistence of glimmers of hope I notice in the midst of even the hardest times. But mostly its because I love community, I'm genuinely curious about people and enjoy having a natter and a cuppa!
Alongside church and community, I love singing and I'm part of Morris Folk Choir which meets in Dalston, I love reading, cycling and walking and spending time with friends and family while sharing good food and wine.
