Lent, Holy Week & Easter

Palm Sunday, 10.30am - The Old (small) Church

Palm Sunday holds together joy and sorrow. This is an all-age service and we begin with celebration by singing & waving palm crosses as we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and we end by hearing the story of his Passion.

Holy Tuesday, 7.30pm - St Andrew’s Church (our partner church in N16)

Using the remarkable and unique wall paintings at St Andrew’s - which depict scenes from the life of Christ - we will journey through Scripture, prayer, and reflection.

Maundy Thursday Meal, 2nd April, 7pm - St Mary’s Centre (behind the big church)

On this night we remember Jesus’ final meal with his friends, his command to love, and his act of humble service.

This is a contemplative, interactive meal with music, chatting, poetry and foot washing.

Good Friday, 3rd April

Children’s Creative Liturgy, 10.30am - St Andrew’s Church (our partner church in N16)

A gentle, thoughtful space for children and families to explore the story of Good Friday through creativity, story and prayer.

Good Friday service, 12pm - 3pm - The Old (small) Church

Through scripture, music, prayer and silence, we reflect at the foot of the cross on God’s love poured out for the world. You are welcome to come in at any time between 12 and 3pm.

Easter Sunday, 5th April

Easter Vigil, 5am - The Old (small) Church

We begin in darkness in the Old Church to listen to readings and music, telling the story of salvation.

Dawn Eucharist, follows on from Easter Vigil (about 6am)

As dawn breaks, we move from the Old Church to the New Church, starting with an Easter fire outside and bring the light of Christ into the big church to start the celebration of Easter.

We share breakfast together afterwards (with fizz and yummy food).

Easter Day Eucharist, 10.30am - The New (big) Church

We celebrate the resurrection with joy and gladness as the church is filled with light, song and life. This is for all ages - including an Easter Egg hunt at the end of the service.

Ash Wednesday, 7pm - The Old (small) Church

We begin Lent by acknowledging our humanity and our deep need of God. In the quiet act of receiving ashes in the sign of a cross on our foreheads, we are reminded that we are all loved because we belong to God. This is a gentle communion service - a grounding place to begin the Lenten journey.

Sundays throughout Lent, 9.30am & 11.15am - The Old (small) Church

9.30am service is an informal, all-age Eucharistic service

11.15am service is a more traditional Eucharistic service

Each week we will focus on a different theme: what is Lent, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and beyond.
